A Russian drone struck a multi-story apartment building late on Sunday (March 2) in Ukraine's second largest city, Kharkiv, triggering a fire and injuring eight people, the city's mayor said.

Russian forces have been shelling Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine almost daily since the start of their invasion three years ago. Still, local business owners continue working, and volunteers from all over the world are on hand to offer support.

President Donald Trump said he believed Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted peace after a Russian missile attack on Kharkiv, Ukraine, on March 7.

The strikes were aimed at critical Ukrainian infrastructure and increased worries that the Trump administration’s decision to withhold intelligence assistance could leave Ukraine more vulnerable.
