The International Machinists and Aerospace Workers union said the vote by District 837 members was overwhelmingly against the proposed contract. The existing contract was to expire at 11:59 p.m.
The company said it was preparing for a strike after a vote among members that looks set to hit multiple production plants.
Unless a new agreement is reached, the current contract expires at 11:59 p.m. Sunday. Then, a seven-day “cooling-off period” would occur before a strike would begin.
