Federal employees in Ohio — and across the United States — are in limbo, awaiting their possible layoffs due to the Trump administration's sweeping effort to downsize the government.

In a sweeping effort to reduce the size of the US federal workforce, President Donald Trump, alongside Elon Musk, has overseen the termination of over 9,500 government employees across multiple departments, reported Reuters.

"We're having staffing shortages at the VA already, cutting back on staff is obviously not helpful," said Rep. Bobby Scott.

President Trump and right-hand man Elon Musk have rolled out a series of moves to cull the federal workforce, forging ahead with numerous methods to fire employees that have already sparked legal
