Former Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) reported to prison Friday afternoon, officially capping off the New York Republican’s dramatic rise-and-fall in politics that saw him ascend as a GOP trailblazer before plunging to disgrace.

Disgraced former congressman George Santos has reported to prison to begin a more than seven-year sentence for wire fraud, identity theft and other charges. The federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed to the BBC on Friday that Santos was in custody at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fairton, New Jersey.

Santos is set to begin serving a seven-year prison sentence for the fraud charges that got him ousted from Congress.
