Universal Music Group Nashville named Mike Harris CEO and appointed big-name producer Dave Cobb as chief creative officer after Cindy Mabe's exit.

The producer, who died on Wednesday, built Murder Inc. into one of the most influential record labels of the early 2000s. His career was marred by a federal investigation and trial.

Irv Gotti, the famed music producer, industry executive, and TV producer, died at the age of 54, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed. The cause of death is currently unknown.

The co-founder of Murder Inc. worked with some of the biggest names in hip-hop, including Ja Rule, Jay-Z and DMX.
