U.S. stocks ended the week Friday with a major selloff amid fears of a new round of tariffs, inflation and declining consumer sentiment. All of the major indexes are at the lowest levels in months. The weekly declines were the Dow Jones Industrials at 0.

U.S. stock indexes are slipping Friday following potentially discouraging updates on inflation and how much U.S. households may be willing to spend. The S&P 500 was down 0.5% in morning trading and potentially on track to erase the last of what had been a winning week.

Tariffs are typically bad news for the economy and stock market. "They raise prices, slow economic growth, cut profits, increase unemployment, worsen inequality, diminish productivity and increase global tensions," according to David Kelly, Chief Global Strategist at J.P. Morgan.
