An Air India Boeing 787 made an emergency landing at Birmingham after its ram air turbine deployed mid-descent — just months after a fatal crash of another 787 left only one survivor.
Air India's Boeing 787 faced an unexpected deployment of the Ram Air Turbine during a final approach to Birmingham. Despite this, the aircraft safely landed. As a result, the Birmingham-Delhi flight was canceled for inspection.
The lawsuit, which appears to be the first in the U.S. over the June crash of the Boeing 787, says faulty fuel switches caused the accident that killed 260 people.
The Federation of Indian Pilots (FIP) has urged aviation regulator DGCA to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the electrical systems across all Boeing 787 aircraft operating in India.
