DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — The road to Omaha — at least for the Atlantic Coast Conference — begins Tuesday in Durham.

It was UNC’s ninth ACC title and third since 2019. UNC catcher Luke Stevenson was voted the Most Valuable Player and headlined the 11-member all-tournament team, and Jackson Van De Brake drove in five runs.

Vanderbilt, which gave up just three runs over three games in the SEC Tournament, was awarded the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament on Monday and was among a record 13 teams from the conference to be selected to the 64-team field.

Catcher Tanner Smith hit a two-run homer and Daniel Cuvet finished 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored. Miami was held to five hits and did not draw a walk in the game.

The seventh-seeded Blue Devils (36-18) face the No. 15 seed Pitt Panthers (28-26) in a second round game at Durham Bulls Athletic Park Wednesday.
