UConn point guard Silas Demary Jr. and center Tarris Reed Jr. will not play in the Huskies’ exhibition game against Boston College at Mohegan Sun Monday night.

Azzi Fudd and defending national champion UConn opened the the season with an exhibition game victory, 84-67, over Boston College.

Clemson jumped out to a 3-0 lead on the opening drive of the game when the Tigers drove 42 yards, converting on third and fourth downs, ultimately capping the drive with a 46-yard field goal from Nolan Hauser. Boston College’s first possession was stifled by Clemson’s front seven, resulting in a quick three-and-out.

Touchdowns from defensive tackle Peter Woods (2-yard rush as a fullback) and Klubnik (6-yard rush) gave Clemson a 24-10 lead with 5:31 remaining in the first half before some big plays by the Tigers’ defense and iffy decision-making by BC coach Bill O’Brien blew the game open.
