Tom Hamilton, who has called Cleveland games on the radio for 35 seasons, won the Hall of Fame’s Ford C. Frick Award for excellence in broadcasting on Wednesday. Hamilton, 70, joined the team's broadcast in 1990,

The honor is indicative of broadcasters who demonstrate “commitment to excellence, quality of broadcasting abilities, reverence within the game, popularity with fans, and recognition by peers.”

Hamilton became the 49th winner of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s Ford C. Frick Award, which is presented annually and honors the top broadcasters in the game.
