R. Kelly was hospitalized for an overdose after prison staff gave him "an amount of medicine that could have killed him" and was later forcibly removed from a hospital against medical advice, his lawyer alleged in a federal court filing Monday.

R. Kelly now claims he suffered an overdose requiring immediate medical attention after taking pills given to him by staff while in solitary confinement.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on Kelly's condition, citing "privacy, safety, and security reasons."
