The Vancouver Canucks acquired Marcus Pettersson in a deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins hours after sending J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers.

In exchange for the two players, the Penguins acquired Danton Heinen, Vincent Desharnais, Melvin Fernstrom, and a first-round pick.
