Wednesday’s power breakfast didn’t produce a sweep of the Brewers, but the Guardians have still won nine of 12 series to open the season. Thursday is an off day, a day to hit the snooze button three or four extra times. CLEVELAND, Ohio — Milwaukee’s offense was held scoreless through its first two games this week, but the Brew Crew struck for seven late runs Wednesday against the Guardians’ bullpen and held on to hand Cleveland a 9-5 loss at Progressive Field.
Jackson Chourio had two of Milwaukee's three hits, including his 14th double, but a missed opportunity in the outfield proved costly on the road.
Cleveland's rotation has been stellar of late, producing a 0.67 ERA the past five games and a 2.47 ERA this month. It's something the Guardians will hope to maintain after putting right-hander Ben Lively on the 15-day injured list due to a right flexor tendon strain on Tuesday.
