Northwestern University and former football coach Pat Fitzgerald have reached a settlement agreement regarding his wrongful termination lawsuit, after he was fired over a hazing scandal in 2023.

Pat Fitzgerald and Northwestern can finally put their legal differences to rest. On Thursday, his lawsuit against the Big Ten school was officially settled. Fitzgerald, 50, coached Northwestern's football team from 2006-2022.
