Outgoing Florida House Republican files ‘open carry’ bill for ’25 session
North Florida House Republican Dr. Joel Rudman, who plans to leave the Legislature to run for Congress, has filed legislation to repeal the state’s red-flag laws and legalize the ‘open carry’ of guns in Florida — long a goal of Second Amendment advocates.
Currently, local units of government cannot ban open carry in their buildings. The bill wouldn’t apply to law enforcement.
