The heist of 100,000 eggs from the back of a trailer in Pennsylvania has become a whodunit that police have yet to crack.

The theft of approximately 100,000 eggs from the back of a distribution trailer in central Pennsylvania is under investigation, authorities say.

The theft was reported Saturday night of 100,000 organic eggs worth more than $40,000 from a distribution trailer in south-central Pennsylvania.

About $40,000 worth of eggs were taken from a trailer belonging to Pete and Gerry’s Organics, police said. U.S. wholesale egg prices are at a record high.

In one of the wildest hijacks, roughly 100,000 eggs were stolen from a truck in Pennsylvania. Law enforcement is trying to unscramble the mystery.
