Marc Marquez failed to win the Spanish Grand Prix due to a crash in Jerez, Spain. The six-time world champion is the championship leader and is fighting for the title against his brother Alex Marquez and teammate Francesco Bagnaia.

Alex Marquez scored a maiden MotoGP victory at the Spanish Grand Prix to take the championship lead after Marc Marquez crashed early on. Making his debut in 2020 at Jerez as a factory Honda rider, Alex Marquez finally broke his duck five years later in front of a capacity crowd at the Andalucian venue.

World championship favourite Marc Marquez is unable to explain the crash that handed the points lead back to his brother Alex at the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday.
