Alan Cumming is happy he got the chance to reprise his role as Kurt Wagner, a.k.a Nightcrawler, in Avengers: Doomsday after his “terrible” experience shooting X2: X-Men United . The 60-year-old actor revealed in a recent PEOPLE interview that he “just finished” filming his Doomsday scenes earlier this month.

The actor recently told People at the Televerse 2025 conference that he “just finished” filming the Russo brothers’ highly anticipated Doomsday film, which is set to hit theaters in May 2026.

As previously reported on Queerty, Alan Cumming is reprising his role as the mutant Nightcrawler on the forthcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Cumming first played the role in the X-Men sequel, X2: X-Men United, in 2003.
