ANN ARBOR, MI — The University of Michigan disciplined a student over a “fake” telehealth medical note, according to a Jan. 16 federal complaint. The student affected is now suing the university, saying the university’s allegations of alleged misconduct are causing damage to her future.
The University of Michigan says its Board of Regents will hold a special meeting on Monday to elect the school's 16th president.
After his time teaching law at U-M, Syverud became law school dean at Vanderbilt University in Nashville and at Washington University in St. Louis. He was appointed chancellor and president at Syracuse in 2013 and took office in January 2014.
If approved, Kent Syverud will be the fifth person to lead the University of Michigan in the past four years.
