Recent 2026 Alabama commit reportedly shuts down recruitment
A member of Alabama's 2026 class, Doughty previously announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide following the Vanderbilt game, and according to a report from Fawcett, has now officially shut things down. Per Fawcett, the Alabama commit has also cancelled upcoming visits to Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Missouri, and Ohio State.

Alabama vs. Vanderbilt football recruiting: 2026 recruits for Crimson Tide and Commodores
Alabama is once again recruiting at an elite level but Vanderbilt has also down well both on the field and on the recruiting front.
High school football historians may look back on the current players in Alabama and recognize this as the golden age for quarterbacks in the state.
According to a report Sunday from Rivals' Hayes Fawcett, Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback commit Jett Thomalla has officially shut down his recruitment. Thomalla, a member of the Crimson Tide's 2026 recruiting class, has been committed to Alabama since June 2025 when the quarterback flipped his commitment from Iowa State.
An in-state prospect, Crowell is currently considered as the nation's No. 33 overall player in the 2026 class, as well as the No. 2 running back nationally, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Rated as a five-star recruit, Crowell is also currently ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the state of Alabama where he attends Jackson High School.
