One day after releasing cornerback Darius Slay, the Eagles are parting ways with fellow veteran defensive back James Bradberry after three seasons, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. The move will be designated as a post-June 1 release, meaning the reigning Super Bowl champions can save $2.1 million in cap space.

The Eagles are also releasing Slay's cornerback partner in Bradberry, the NFL Network reported Tuesday. Bradberry, an All Pro opposite Slay in 2022, regressed in 2023. He spent last summer learning how to play safety before going on injured reserve with a lower leg injury. He stayed on IR for the entire season.

The Eagles are retooling their defensive secondary, taking the steps to release Darius Slay and James Bradberry on consecutive days. The duo has been impressive since getting paired together ahead of the 2022 NFL season.
