Graphic footage has emerged of what appears to be Hamas fighters carrying out public executions in Gaza amid fighting among warring clans in the region.

In one video circulated late on Monday, Hamas fighters dragged seven men into a circle of people in Gaza City, forced them to their knees and shot them from behind.

"Hamas is required to make all necessary efforts to return the deceased hostages," the IDF added.

Israel's defence minister on Wednesday (Oct 15) threatened to resume fighting if Hamas does not honour the terms of a US-backed ceasefire that halted the war in Gaza.

UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher urged Israel to immediately open all crossings into Gaza for humanitarian aid, as called for in the ceasefire plan.

As senior Israeli officials accuse Hamas of stalling the implementation of the peace agreement, senior U.S. advisers said that the fragile peace deal that ended the war in Gaza seems to be holding, noting that Hamas is making every effort to return the remaining hostage bodies.

US President Donald Trump has threatened to disarm Hamas "violently" amid moves by the group to reassert control over the Gaza Strip, targeting what it called "collaborators".
