North Augusta Elementary School spent a Saturday beautifying the school by painting each grade level pod and creating a set for a Lion King play at the school.

The school is named after a former teacher and principal at a school for Black children during the era of segregation.

As part of a new initiative in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, Wednesday served as an opportunity for local leaders to become 'Principal for A Day' at many of the district's 81 schools.
