The improbable quest to a national title for Notre Dame, unfortunately, ended with a 34 to 23 loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday night in the title game. This 14-2 campaign was built off of the Fighting Irish rebounding from a horrific loss to Northern Illinois in the second game of the season,

Ohio State won four games in a row to win the College Football Playoff, it is not the sport's longest.

This loss for Notre Dame to Ohio State in the national title game wasn't Alabama 2013 all over again, but there were similarites. The differences were huge, though.
