Jimmy Carter laid to rest in hometown of Plains, GeorgiaPLAINS, Ga. (WTVM) - Thursday, the nation bid a final farewell to former President Jimmy Carter, who died at the age of 100 on Dec. 29, making him the longest-living former U.S. president.
The landmark in Plains, Georgia, gives a nod to the late president’s big grin and humble beginnings.
The house also is believed be the former dwelling of a fourth-great-grandmother of former President Jimmy Carter.
Not bad really. Today we left for Plains to see Jimmy Carter’s resting place. Taking back roads we saw a sign saying Georgia Metal Fabrications so we took a detour down a county road to the factory.
