Former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vows to challenge Governor Gavin Newsom’s redistricting plan in California. Newsom's plan is a response to Texas as the GOP seeks to add five seats to its House delegation.
In a recent appearance on comedian Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, Schwarzenegger recalled that when he first arrived in California, the state’s population was around 20 million. Since then, it has roughly doubled — a surge that, he argued, demanded a proportional increase in housing.
Schwarzenegger wrote that he was “getting ready for the gerrymandering battle” while hitting the chest press machine in a shirt that read, “F*** THE POLITICIANS TERMINATE GERRYMANDERING.” The post comes as the state awaits a formal proposal for newly drawn congressional maps to create more Democratic districts.

‘He’s upset’: Arnold Schwarzenegger fires up over California and Texas’ gerrymandering efforts
Brad vs Everyone’ podcast host Brad Polumbo claims actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is “upset” about gerrymandering efforts in California and Texas.
While delivering remarks to a crowd, Newsom tore into President Donald Trump, who has backed Texas Republicans, calling him a “failed president” and the “most unpopular” in modern history. He pledged to “meet fire with fire,” and pointed to how Trump tried to “light democracy on fire” on Jan. 6, and is now ”once again trying to rig the system."

Here are the 5 GOP House seats that could be wiped out with Newsom's California redistricting plan
Gov. Gavin Newsom's redistricting plan threatens to flip five Republican congressional districts to Democratic control in California's gerrymandering plan.
A California legislative hearing turned into a shouting match Tuesday as a Republican lawmaker clashed with Democrats over a partisan plan to rewrite U.S. House maps to win Democrats more seats. A committee voted along party lines to advance a new congressional map in response to a Republican redistricting effort in Texas that President Donald Trump wants.
