The Cleveland Guardians saw shortstop Gabriel Arias flash some leather to get Kansas City Royals All-Star Bobby Witt Jr. out at first.
That includes Texas A&M outfielder Jace LaViolette, their first-round pick. The 6-foot-6, 230-pound LaViolette, who just underwent hand surgery, received a $4 million signing bonus, which was above his slot value of $3.38 million. The Guardians selected him with the 27th pick in the first round.
