Texas football suffered its second defeat of the season at Florida. Here's how it impacted the Longhorns in the rankings.

Coming off an upset loss in week 6, the Texas Longhorns seemingly bounced back with a triumphant 23-6 win over the No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners for the annual Red River Rivalry in Dallas on Saturday.

After defeating Oklahoma at a neutral site, the Longhorns are on the road for trips to face Kentucky and Mississippi State to close the month of October. November is chock-full of tests, highlighted by games against Vanderbilt, Georgia, and Texas A&M.

Further down in the rankings we are expecting a drop for Oklahoma outside the top 10 and a bump back into the rankings for Arch Manning and Texas after taking down the Sooners in Dallas. That, plus plenty of shake up near the end of the ballots, will highlight the key shake ups for Sunday's new rankings release.

The Texas Longhorns look to keep adding to their 2026 recruiting class, as they fight other top programs to flip a prospect's commitment.

On the “College GameDay Podcast,” ESPN’s Rece Davis previewed Texas’ game against the No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners. He noted that Texas has been a disappointment this season, but this may allow them to play more freely on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
