NEW YORK — Mets left-hander David Peterson was pulled after 4 2/3 innings in Sunday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Initially, there was fear that he might have pulled something while throwing a pitch. After the Mets’ 2-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday, manager Carlos Mendoza revealed he was “fine physically.”
Mets starter David Peterson showed visible discomfort in the fifth inning but remained in the game for a few extra batters.
With Peterson forced to leave, the Mets had to lean heavily on their bullpen again. While the group was a bit shorthanded, they were tremendous -- and one of the arms who helped bridge the gap to Edwin Diaz was A.J. Minter, who put together arguably one of his best appearances of the young season.
