WARREN, Mich. (AP) — President Donald Trump is holding a rally in Michigan on Tuesday to mark the first 100 days of his second term, staging his largest public event since returning to the White House in a state that has been especially rocked by his steep trade tariffs and combative attitude toward Canada.

President Donald Trump spent his first 15 weeks overhauling the federal government and aggressively enforcing his immigration policy, which his administration is eager to keep in the spotlight.

Canada’s public broadcaster has projected that the Liberal Party will form its fourth successive government in the country. Incumbent Mark Carney, who led the Liberals in the election, will likely stay on as Prime Minister.

Starting just after 6 a.m., the lawmakers addressed viewers about the Trump administration’s proposed budget that they said would slash programs in housing, health care and education that help millions of Americans,
