Former Boston College quarterback Doug Flutie made an appearance on the field with the Bananas at Fenway Park Sunday.

The traveling baseball entertainment show brought its “Banana Ball” troupe to the home of the Red Sox for a pair of holiday weekend performances.

At least one magnificent fireworks display in Chicago is still on the docket. A special Independence Day celebration fireworks show at Navy Pier will commence at 10 p.m. The 15-minute display along the lakefront will be longer than Navy Pier’s twice-weekly 10-minute fireworks shows, according to organizers.
