North Carolina gas prices are up this week amid concern that the United States' involvement in the most recent Middle East conflict would impact the local fuel market. The cost of gas has risen by nearly 11 cents a gallon in the state since last week,

The national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $3.22, up eight cents from last Monday. One year ago, the price was $3.45. The New York State average is $3.21, up 10 cents from last Monday.

Patrick De Haan of GasBuddy told Newsweek: "... I think what the market is essentially saying here is that the conflict is winding down."
