Again, this was an acquisition intended to raise the floor of the Raiders' passing attack after a lackluster effort in 2024, spread across Gardner Minshew (nine starts), Aidan O'Connell (seven starts), and Desmond Ridder (one start). So far, it's either been ever so slightly better or worse.

Week 5 was not the best for the Seahawks and Raiders organizations, as both teams suffered losses. Seattle dropped a thriller at home 38-35 to the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Las Vegas was absolutely obliterated by the Indianapolis Colts to the tune of 40-6 on the road, which was one of the worst margins of defeat in Pete Carroll's career.
The Seahawks defense looks good when healthy, and the offense looks even better. But you know who else deserves an "A" grade? The front office.
Geno Smith has nine interceptions through the Las Vegas Raiders' first five games, a feat not accomplished since Jim Plunkett in 1982.

Do the Raiders need to bench Geno Smith?
The Las Vegas Raiders hit rock bottom on Sunday, losing 40-6 to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5. Starting quarterback Geno Smith struggled mightily. Nobody would blame the Raiders if they're considering benching Smith, but they're invested in helping him snap out of this funk.
This was supposed to be the season where the Las Vegas Raiders returned to contention. Instead, their gamble on Geno Smith has blown up in their face.

The Raiders keep acquiring QBs to fit in the middle of their culture rather than drafting one to help install it. With the 2026 draft deep at the position, it's time to change their approach.
