A man who scaled the UK Parliament’s historic “Big Ben” clock tower with a Palestinian flag has been arrested, police said.

LONDON (AP) — Emergency services were called to the Palace of Westminster in London on Saturday after a man holding a Palestinian flag climbed up Big Ben tower, police said. Photos show the barefoot man standing on a ledge several meters up Elizabeth Tower, which houses Big Ben.

The man, whose name was not disclosed, was arrested after climbing the giant clock in the city of London, the Big Ben located in the complex of the British Parliament. He was at the Elizabeth Tower for 16 hours to raise the Palestinian flag on Saturday,
