DeWine changes execution dates for two death row inmates
Gov. Mike DeWine has issued reprieves for two death row inmates who were scheduled to be executed early next year. The governor has ordered that Antonio Franklin and James Trimble’s execution dates will each be pushed back three years.
DeWine's announcement wasn't the death blow Castore and others feared, though. The governor imposed a 90-day ban on intoxicating hemp products — drinks and gummies are among the most common — that won't start until Oct. 14. Since January 2024, DeWine has pressed Ohio lawmakers to enact THC limits and other regulations on the sale of THC products.
