The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for a big chunk of central and northern Minnesota, while a winter weather advisory surrounds the warning. The highest snow totals are currently forecast in places like Bemidji, Grand Rapids and Duluth, where a foot of snow could pile up.

A potent spring storm is brining winterlike conditions to much of Minnesota Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday. The heaviest snow will fall across central and northern Minnesota.

The winter storm warning is in effect for southeast North Dakota and west-central to northwest Minnesota, the National Weather Service said.
