TORONTO — Rookie Trey Yesavage, a Boyertown High School graduate, set a Blue Jays postseason record by striking out 11 in 5 1/3 no-hit innings in a dazzling performance Sunday night as Toronto beat the New York Yankees 13-7 to take a 2-0 lead in the ALDS.
Featured in 2024 Bowman Draft, Yesavage's 1st Bowman autograph is less than a year old after the 22-year-old was taken in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of East Carolina. Yesavage's market was on the higher end to begin with as one of the top pitchers in the draft class alongside Cincinnati Reds' Chase Burns.
Trey Yesavage and his family will never forget what transpired on Sunday afternoon in Toronto. Making just his fourth career start, Yesavage pitched the game of his life, striking out 11 hitters across 5 1/3 innings of no-hit ball.
Toronto Blue Jays starter Trey Yesavage tossed a gem in Game 2 of the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees, helping them to a comfortable 13-7 win.
All the way over on the west coast, the Mariners picked up a much-needed 3-2 win against the Tigers, with Jorge Polanco and Julio Rodríguez each playing hero. Polanco hit two solo home runs off of Detroit ace Tarik Skubal, then Rodríguez delivered the go-ahead double in the bottom of the eighth inning.
