USC Trojans running back Quinten Joyner has officially entered the transfer portal after weeks of speculation. The former 2023 All-American Bowl and Polynesian Bowl participant will have three years of eligibility remaining.

USC football is being dramatically remade heading into 2025. Whether you like it or not, the 2025 roster will look very different from the 2024 version. USC transfer portal departures are stacking up.

A local Newbury Park High product, the eccentric lefty Lynch was a favorite in USC’s program, earning a scholarship in 2023. He finished just 15-of-22 (68%) and 10-of-14 (71%) in 2022 and 2023 as the Trojans’ starting kicker, however, and lost the job to Georgia Southern transfer Michael Lantz in 2024.

Moss entered the 2024 season as USC’s starter and led the Trojans to wins over LSU and Utah State in his first two games. USC ended up going 4-5 with Moss as the starter and he was replaced by Jayden Maiava prior to the Nebraska game.

The redshirt-freshman back is departing USC after shining in limited use in 2024, averaging 7.6 yards a carry.

As they say, the transfer portal giveth and the transfer portal taketh. With USC football set to lose a significant batch of talent in the transfer portal, the Trojans will have to counter that by bringing in talent from other schools.

We knew it was a long shot that the USC Trojans would be able to keep all of their wide receivers from entering the transfer portal. Kyron Hudson entered earlier this week and now the Trojans have suffered a bigger blow.
