Sauron, however, responds with a vision of a dying Arwen, shaking Aragorn's confidence and making him drop and shatter the Evenstar. At the Battle of the Black Gate Aragorn beheads the Mouth of Sauron with Anduril after he insultingly refers to the sword as nothing more than a "broken Elvish blade".

In The Lord of the Rings film trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, Narsil was not broken in two but into several parts (which were kept at Rivendell), and is not reforged into Andúril until the third film. Aragorn uses an ordinary sword during the first two films.

Oct 18, 2024 · Narsil was not broken in the fall of Elendil, but by Sauron stepping on the blade as Isildur tried to pull it up. Furthermore, the blade was shattered into many parts, instead of a clean cut into two parts.

Mar 31, 2023 · The line was broken when Earnur died without naming a successor and he had no children. From there the stewards took over to rule instead. Aragorn was not a direct descendent of Earnur though they were related.

Looks like Anduril is now the Sword that was Broken… Came home to find my printed Anduril on the ground. Must have been a big explosion at the quarry down the road today. Guess I’ll be printing a new one next week since the support rods are sheared. And so the fourth age ends. At least it is still lore accurate. A broken heirloom.

Jan 19, 2021 · Narsil was broken during the battle, and its pieces and shards were ultimately inherited by Aragorn. Before the Fellowship left Rivendell, the Elves used the shards and reforged Narsil into Andúril, Aragorn’s primary weapon.
