I was unironically excited to get to go to a Pat Hoberg game, mostly because I knew I wouldn’t have to worry about shit calls or any kind of Ump Show antics. Dude is just a pro who puts in great work every night. He’s what every fan should want from an umpire, and it’s sad that he stands out so much for it.

Oct 13, 2020 · Look Hoberg was great, but he definitely called 3 to 5 strikes that were low and away, out of the zone to righties. Maybe the rectangle on the TV is inaccurate. I'm fine with that reasoning, but there's definitely a discrepancy.
