🌪️ Urmil: Category 1 cyclone near Vanuatu A tropical system near Vanuatu has strengthened into a Category 1 cyclone on the Saffir–Simpson scale. The system has strengthened over the southwest Pacific and is now tracking southeast, already south of the main islands. Earlier, gusts exceeded 100 km/h in parts of the archipelago, accompanied by heavy showers and thunderstorms. Coastal areas saw rough seas with waves around 3 m.
