Drop proof! Off the bolt -> onto the gear loop -> off the rope(s). Why do it any differently?? I do see folks doing all kinds of different things when removing quickdraws whilst they are seconding routes. Practice this move. It’s useful sometimes! Getting over a wind lip or a cornice can be tricky sometimes especially if you want to ease into the line to check the stability or the quality of the snow. Using your poles planted in upside down like this is a good way to do it and can save you having to take out your ice axe. Sometimes on a route you get locked into the same type and configuration of anchor and it’s great to have a solid system that’s replicable and quick to build and stash away. In this case (and quite often in the Chamonix area) it’s two bolts like this offset vertically and horizontally tied together with a rotting piece of cord.
