Trying to block out certain thoughts can cause us more problems than when we let them occur and then pass naturally. The key is in choosing which thoughts we will hold onto and focus our attention on and which thoughts we will not give the spotlight to. The metaphor in this video is one I often use to help describe what we do in mindfulness.
