Meet Lise, one of the Senior Animal Care Specialists on the Animal Care and Science team here at Shedd. Lise will be traveling to Raja Ampat, Indonesia to assist in endangered zebra shark repopulation efforts in partnership with ReShark, an international collective dedicated to recovering threatened sharks and rays around the world. Lise cares for resident zebra sharks here at Shedd and is an expert on these animals. She will bring this wealth of knowledge to Raja Ampat as she works to repopulat

Cardboard creatures are kind of our specialty this intern season 🦚 Today, Liski the Amur leopard got to enjoy a handmade peacock—crafted with real molted feathers from our free-roaming flock (no plucking here, just recycling nature’s leftovers!). She loved it, ripping it apart and moving her “prey” to a safer spot—just like she would in the wild. Amazing job, Mason—what a wildly cool enrichment idea! 🐆 | Staten Island Zoo
