These are the Etowah Indian Mounds in Cartersville, GA and if you are in the area you have to stop by and check them out. The history here is amazing. These mounds were built on a 54-acre site by prehistoric indigenous people and had been occupied by different native cultures until the 1830s. They were used for many different purposes, but ceremony, defense, and drainage seem to be the main reasons behind the mounds being built and inhabited.
