The Road Safety Authority says it hopes to clear the backlog in driving tests before the end of this year. Around 120,000 learners are waiting to take their driving theory test and 62,000 waiting for a driving test. At the moment only essential workers can get lessons. | RTÉ News

Latest figures from the Road Safety Authority show over 74,674 people are currently on a waiting list for a driving test date. The estimated national average waiting time rose from 22 weeks to 23 weeks last month.
