Sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus) is a commonly planted tree in many parts of the Eastern US and a very important tree in Europe, where it is native, and commonly just called “sycamore.” This tree has escaped cultivation in many places and I therefore recommend against planting it in the US landscape.
