Big Blue Marble was a TV show that ran between 1974 and 1983 in the US. I suspect it was only after the show ended that Zambian television (ZBS at the time) began to air it. That meant viewers like me - who wrote to the address they showed to get pen pals - got polite letters back from the producers saying the show had ended and that service was no longer available.
